Frequent Coen brothers’ collaborator John Goodman is set to join their upcoming folk music flick Inside Llewyn Davis.
Although Goodman has offered up memorable performances in plenty of the Coens previous films (Raising Arizona, Barton Fink, The Big Lebowski), he hasn’t worked with the duo since 2000’s O Brother, Where Art Thou?
Showbiz 411 reports Goodman’s casting, but has no details on his role.
Set in the folk music scene in 1960s’ Greenwich Village, the film will be loosely based on the life of folk singer Dave Van Ronk (called here Llewyn Davis).
Oscar Isaac secured the eponymous role in the pic last month, though it is suggested that the Coens’ indie flick will have a Robert Altman-esque ensemble vibe.
Carey Mulligan and Justin Timberlake are also set to star.
